STEM Education

YMPA has a growing and robust STEM education program. Our Science, Technology and Mathematics departments work collaboratively to make the program a true success.

In Science students compete in the award-winning interdisciplinary environmental science competition, the Fairchild Competition, a benchmark in STEM education. In Mathematics, students participate in the SECME Olympiad’s egg drop and bridge building competitions held annually in February. In Technology, robotics students compete in the VEX Robotics competition. Advanced academics students participate in Hour of Code, in addition to further coding for the web throughout the year. Our Language Arts department promotes our STEM education through participation in the SECME Essay Competition.

Participation in STEM education is open to all interested middle and high school students.
